Sustainability

At Siljeklint Studios we are committed to creating high-quality, stylish clothing that is also sustainable and environmentally friendly. We know that the fashion industry can have a negative impact on both people and the planet, and we are dedicated to doing our part to minimize that impact.

One of the ways we are working to be a more sustainable company is by using organic and sustainable materials in our products. We are proud to be GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, which is the most strict certification for cotton based on both ecological and social criteria. Among other things this means that at least 85% of the fibers in the products are organic and all stages of production meet stringent environmental and social criteria. But why stop there? All of our cotton-based products are based on 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. Some of our pieces contain polyester to make them stronger and more durable. The polyester used is recycled from used PET bottles.

We believe that organic and sustainable materials are not only better for the environment, but also softer and more comfortable to wear.

In addition to using sustainable materials, we are also committed to reducing our carbon footprint and minimizing our waste. We work with suppliers who share our values and are committed to sustainability.

We are also committed to ensuring that all of our products are made in a fair and ethical manner. We understand that the fashion industry has a history of exploitation, and we are determined to do our part to change that.

That's why we are proud to be a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). The FWF is an independent, non-profit organization that works to improve working conditions in the fashion industry. As a member, we are held to a high standard of labor practices and are regularly audited to ensure that we are meeting their requirements.

We work closely with our manufacturing partners to ensure that they are providing their workers with fair wages, safe working conditions, and the opportunity to advance within their companies. We also require that they adhere to all local labor laws and regulations.

We believe that everyone has the right to fair and ethical treatment in the workplace, and we are committed to doing our part to make that a reality. We are proud to offer high-quality products that are made in a way that is respectful to both people and the planet.

We know that there is always more we can do to be a more sustainable company, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve. If you have any suggestions or ideas for how we can be more sustainable, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us at contact@siljeklintstudios.com

Thank you for your support as we work to create stylish and sustainable clothing.

  • Global Organic Textile Standard

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading worldwide standard for organic fiber production. It is the most stringent certification for organic cotton and covers both ecological and social criteria. GOTS guarantees that the cotton is organically grown without genetically modified seeds or harmful chemicals and atraces the product from post-harvesting to the final customer, including transaction certificates at each stage of production.

  • Fair Wear Foundation

Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent organization that works to improve labor conditions in garment factories through collaboration with apparel brands, garment workers, and textile industry influencers. FWF conducts regular audits and establishes Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to ensure workers' rights and fair, safe, and dignified employment. Our mnaufacturer has been a member of FWF since 2012, demonstrating their commitment to ethical manufacturing.

  • Global Recycled Standard

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certifies recycled textiles and covers the entire supply chain, including traceability, environmental principles, social responsibility, chemical content, and labeling. Our manufacturers use GRS certified recycled cotton, recycled polyester, and recycled nylon, showing their and our commitment to sustainability.

  • PETA

Our manufacturers are 'PETA-Approved' brands that do not conduct or commission animal testing on any of their ingredients, products, or finished goods. They use 100% vegan materials and do not contain any animal fibers. We, along with our manufacturers, are proud to be a cruelty-free brand and stand by these values.

  • OEKO-TEX

OEKO-TEX's Standard 100 certifies fabrics free of harmful chemicals. It ensures compliance with EU REACH regulations and prohibits certain potentially harmful substances. Our products, certified by Standard 100, are safe for both people and the planet. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our OEKO-TEX certification.

  • Textile Exchange

Textile Exchange, a global non-profit organization, works with its members to transform the industry through preferred fibers, integrity, standards, and responsible supply networks. Our manufacturer actively participates in the annual Material Change Index survey, tracking progress towards more sustainable sourcing at the raw material level.
